Simulations

A couple of quick and dirty simulations done using a quasi symplectic algorithm

The simulations were done using Fortran, with output produced via gnuplot, and assembled under linux with the help of images2mpg.
Simulations were done in 3D, using a fourth order quasi symplectic integrator, at fixed temperature and pressure. In all simulations, note the moving set on the right; a constant force was applied to the moving set to ensure that the pressure was indeed constant.

  • 125 atoms interacting with a LJ potential, at fixed pressure, for varying temperatures movie.
  • 128 dymers interacting via a LJ potential and an additional harmonic coupling movie

In all simulations the temperature was changed through different values, shown on top of the movie. Note the formation of droplets, and the evaporation of the particles for larger temperatures.
