Research fields: Physics of the Solar System and Planetology:
collisional evolution of the asteroids and formation of NEAs;
collisional and dynamical processes; collisional evolution  of
satellites  and  planetary  rings;  formation  of  planetary  systems;  
General astrophysics: star formation and evolution, statistical
studies of binary systems.
Author  or  coauthor  of  about  150  scientific  papers,  half
published  on  international refereed Journals.
The  most  relevant  contributions  to  the  research  are  related
to  the  evolution  of asteroids, collisional models and formation of 
binary asteroids. 
The asteroid 3176 has been given the name "Paolicchi".
