The Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Physics<\/strong> ends with an assessment of the student\u2019s ability to clearly present and discuss a topic covered during the study program, using appropriate language and communication skills. The topic is usually suggested by a professor from the program, who also acts as a tutor<\/strong> or supervisor and ensures it is approved by the examination committee. The final examination<\/strong> consists of writing a long abstract<\/strong><\/em> and giving an oral presentation<\/strong> of a maximum of 10 minutes, followed by possible questions. The final exam is worth 3 ECTS credits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

All the procedures use Google Forms accessible with University credentials. Please log in using your institutional email n.surname#@studenti.unipi.it<\/em>.\u00a0For details, visit https:\/\/start.unipi.it\/gsuite\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To take the graduation exam, a set procedures must be carried out both for the University of Pisa<\/strong> and the Department of Physics<\/strong>, in advance of the graduation session (for specific dates, see the Graduation Sessions<\/a> table):<\/p>\n\n\n\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

For UniPi. <\/strong>Submit the Graduation Application via the Alice portal.<\/a> If in doubt, consult the instructions on the UniPi “Graduation Exam”<\/a> page.<\/p>\r\n

For the Department.<\/strong> Fill out the \u201cGraduation Application\u201d form (link in the Graduation Calls and Deadlines<\/a> table), attaching:<\/p>\r\n

15 days before the call<\/em><\/td>\r\n\r\n

By this date, under penalty of exclusion from the session<\/em>, all required exams must have been passed.<\/p>\r\n

For UniPi.<\/strong> Upload the attachments to the Graduation Application on the Alice portal<\/a>, as indicated on the UniPi \u201cGraduation Exam\u201d<\/a> page.<\/p>\r\n

For the Department<\/strong>. Unlike past Bachelor’s sessions, the Department will interface directly with the central offices: No Action Required.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

For the Department<\/strong>. Fill out the \u201cSlides Submission\u201d form (link in the Graduation Calls and Deadlines<\/a> table), attaching the presentation in PDF format(*)<\/sup><\/em>. Note: the three days do NOT include public holidays.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

(*)<\/sup>Preparing and submitting your presentation in advance will also allow for a short \u201crehearsal\u201d to be arranged a few days before the defense, to ensure that everything works properly.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that photographers for graduation exams must be accredited<\/strong> (see the guide \u201cChoosing Photographers for Graduation Exams\u201d<\/a><\/strong>). To use a trusted professional photographer, their name must be submitted via email to segrdida@df.unipi.it<\/a> within 15 days of the opening of the graduation session.

This is necessary to issue the \u201cInvited Photographer\u201d pass<\/em> required to access the room where the graduation ceremony will take place. The pass<\/em> must be collected at the Physics Department reception desk (Largo Pontecorvo, 3), upon presentation of a valid ID, which will be returned when the pass is handed back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We remind graduating students that the final exam may take place over multiple days. The schedule for the final exam will be published approximately two weeks before the exam itself.
