The project can be conducted at the Department or at other public or private institutions, in Italy or abroad, and typically has a duration of around <strong>9 months,<\/strong> including both the research activities and the writing of the final document. The final exam is worth <strong>45 ECTS<\/strong> credits.<\/p>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>Before Starting the Thesis<\/strong><\/summary>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>to begin your Thesis you need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Identify a Thesis topic <\/strong>and <strong>a supervisor<\/strong>, e.g. through direct discussions with faculty members in your area of interest, or based on thesis announcements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the <strong><a href=\"#inizio-tesi\">Thesis Start Procedures<\/a><\/strong>. The exact template depends on where the Thesis will be carried out and on the advisor\u2019s status. Experimental theses may also involve more extended safety and training procedures. Differently, for organizational reasons, the committee will evaluate the version submitted via the \u201cThesis Submission\u201d form.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Opponents, reports, and further details.<\/strong> Based on the Abstract and further info received, the Committee will appoint two opponents, who are typically announced about two to three weeks before the scheduled session, along with instructions on how to proceed. The candidate will be required to arrange a meeting with both opponents, who will write reports based on this meeting and their reading of the Thesis.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h5 id=\"at-6942\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><a href=\"#Magistrale-in-Fisica\">Recommendations for the Thesis defense<\/a><\/h5><div id=\"ac-6942\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>A few suggestions for the preparation of your Thesis defense:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Duration of the oral presentatoin.<\/strong> Duration of the final viva, each candidate has a maximum of 30-35 minutes to illustrate her\/his wotk of Thesis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Number of slides<\/strong>. Plan on roughly one &#8220;effective&#8221; slide per minute; exceeding 40 slides is discouraged. Although you may be interrupted for questions, <strong data-start=\"5032\" data-end=\"5078\">the presentation may not exceed 50 minutes<\/strong> under any circumstances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluation .
