L\u2019attivit\u00e0 del mio gruppo \u00e8 da diverso tempo dedicata alla realizzazione di dispositivi fotonici THz. Avendo dimostrato anni fa il primo laser THz a semiconduttore eterostrutturato, i nostri risultati pi\u00f9 importanti includono anche i primi rivelatori THz basati su transistor a nanofilo e in grafene. Recentemente ci siamo invece focalizzati sullo sviluppo di laser THz in microcavit\u00e0 e di dispositivi THz optomeccanici, nonch\u00e9 sull\u2019implementazione di diverse applicazioni, principalmente in ambito agri-food.

\nPer quanto riguarda la fisica fondamentale, studiamo la modifica e il controllo dell\u2019interazione radiazione-materia in strutture con un elevato confinamento dei fotoni, per esempio basate sui plasmoni nel grafene.\u00a0 Abbiamo investigato la formazione e la dinamica dei polaritoni intersottobanda e studiamo la loro manipolazione ottica e elettrica. Il mio gruppo ha anche realizzato i primi esperimenti sul controllo coerente dell\u2019assorbimento in sistemi polaritonici e nel grafene.<\/p>","attivita_en":"
The activity of my group has been mainly devoted to the realization of THz photonic devices. Having achieved years ago the first ever THz semiconductor heterostructure laser, our developments include also the first THz detectors in semiconductor nanowire and graphene field effect transistors. Recently we have instead focused on investigating THz microcavity lasers and THz opto-mechanical devices, as well as on implementing applications, particularly in the agri-food field.

\nOn the fundamental physics side, we investigate the modification and control of light-matter interaction in structures with strong photon confinement, for instance based on graphene plasmons. We have been investigating the formation and dynamics of intersubband polaritons and studying their electrical and optical manipulation.
