Student from the University of Pisa wins prestigious INFN “Milla Baldo Ceolin” award

Miriam Patroclo, who holds a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Pisa, has received the prestigious INFN “Milla Baldo Ceolin” Prize for her thesis on quantum phase transitions, titled “A Quantum Information approach to detect Quantum Phase Transitions in Central Spin Models”.

The award, given by the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), annually recognizes the best ten recent female graduates with Master’s degrees in theoretical physics, with the aim of encouraging the involvement of young female researchers in this fascinating field of physics.

The award ceremony was held on October 8, 2024, at the Galileo Galilei Institute for Theoretical Physics.
