The 2021 Night of Researchers will take place in the squares and streets of Pisa on 24 September. The program includes research stands set up in the central places of the city (Logge di Banchi, Largo Ciro Menotti, Piazza dei Cavalieri, Piazza Martiri della Libertà) and aperitifs in the cafés and bookshops of the historic centre, also with events for children and teenagers.
Researchers of all the institutions that make Pisa a “City of Research” will give life to a choral event through scientific dissemination and entertainment: University of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, CNR, INFN, INGV, EGO-Virgo.
Piazza XX Settembre will host a stage with debates and cultural entertainment, guest researchers from all the Pisan scientific institutions, theatrical and musical performances, with the journalist Silvia Bencivelli.
The places where research takes place, laboratories, libraries, departments, museums and structures will also be open to the public. People will be able to approach the work of researchers and participate in dissemination events and engaging demonstrations.
The Department of Physics of the University of Pisa, as usual, is strongly involved and supports this event.
