Direttore del FERMI free electron laser al Laboratorio Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste

Presentation

Claudio Masciovecchio graduated in Physics from the University of L’Aquila in 1993 and earned his PhD in Physics from the J. Fourier University in Grenoble in 1998.

Claudio is an experimental physicist with a distinguished career that includes more than 200 publications in international journals and over 100 invited talks and plenary lectures at international conferences. His expertise ranges from the study of liquids and systems under extreme thermodynamic conditions to nanomaterials and biophysics.

In recognition of his scientific contributions, he was awarded the Kai Siegbahn Prize in 2012, the Innovation Award on Synchrotron Radiation in 2015, and the SILS Outstanding Scientist Award in 2016.

He currently manages the activities of the FERMI free-electron laser, a facility that attracts scientists from around the globe to conduct cutting-edge research in chemistry, physics, and biology.
