The prestigious international science website Phys.org has published an in-depth article on the study “Triggering electron capture supernovae: Dark matter effects in degenerate white-dwarf-like cores of super-asymptotic giant branch stars”.
The research is the result of a collaboration between Ignazio Bombaci, professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Pisa, Domenico Scordino, former master’s student of the same Department, and Vishal Parmar, postdoctoral researcher at the INFN section of Pisa.
The research team investigated the effects of dark matter on electron-capture supernovae, obtaining significant results that attracted the attention of the Phys.org editorial team.
