Research activities

Matteo graduated in Physics in Pisa in 2011 and received the PhD in Physics in Pisa in 2015. His research activities are mainly focused on the study of radiation detectors for medical physics applications and on the development of medical imaging systems. He participates in studies dedicated to hadrontherapy monitoring (INSIDE project) and the treatment planning optimization by the quantification of the fragmentation probabilities in tissues and beam (FOOT experiment). He contributes to the development of PET instrumentation, designing detectors for time-of-flight applications and MRI-compatible. He is also involved in the study of scintillator-based dosimeters for electron-flash applications.
