Research activities
My research activity is mainly focused on the investigation of the impact of macroscopic coherent effects, crystal properties and electromagnetic fields on the charge and energy (heat) transport in mesoscopic solid-state devices bases on superconductors, normal metals and semiconductors.
Another main interest is the development of radiation detectors for cosmology and fundamental physics, both by optimizing the performance of existent architectures and by designing innovative schemes which take advantage of superconductivity, Josephson effect and 2D crystals.
Finally, I am interest in the integration of solid-state systems with soft matter for the realization of electrochemical transistors where the electrical conduction of semiconductors and metals is tuned electrostatically or through the controlled and reversible intercalation of ions.
