Research activities

My research focuses on theoretical condensed matter physics, with particular interest in the topological properties of bosonic systems, such as ultracold gases, plasmonics and nanophotonic platforms.
A specific line of investigation concerns bound states in the continuum and polarization vortices of light, as well as the study of non-Hermitian and out-of-equilibrium systems, particularly within the framework of Floquet theory. In these contexts, the presence of dissipation, gain, and temporal modulation opens new routes to realizing topological phases of matter that are robust against imperfections and external disturbances.

My theoretical approach is interdisciplinary and closely connected to experimental developments, with the goal of identifying fundamental physical mechanisms for advanced control of light and matter at the nanoscale.
