Starting from the end of January 2025, the Fibonacci Area will host a series of seminars titled “The EQUATE Seminars – Meet Quantum Science and Technology”. Seminars aim to introduce students and PhD candidates to a broad range of topics related to quantum science and technology, as well as providing an opportunity for researchers and professors to discuss new directions for advancing the field.
The first session, titled “Inter and intra particle entanglement as a resource for integrated quantum photonics,” will be led by Prof. Lorenzo Pavesi from the University of Trento on January 29th, 2025, at 4:00 PM, classroom Gerace, Department of Computer Science.
The upcoming seminars are scheduled for:
- February 26th, 2025, at 4 PM, classroom Gerace of the Department of Computer Science: “Josephson nanocircuits as a suitable platform for implementing quantum thermoelectric machines,” seminar led by Dr. Francesco Giazotto from the Nanoscience Institute – CNR, Pisa
- March 12th, 2025 (classroom to be defined): “Photonic platforms for quantum technology applications,” seminar led by Prof. Alberto Bramati from the Kastler Brossel Laboratory, Sorbonne University, Paris
- April 2025 (classroom and topic to be defined): seminar led by Prof. Jukka Pekola from Aalto University, Finland
- May 2025 (classroom to be defined): “The Quantum Revolution in Metrology,” seminar led by Prof. Klaus von Klitzing
The seminars are organized by Federica Bianco, researcher at CNR NANO, Pisa, and Federico Paolucci, professor in the Department of Physics. This iniziative is part of the project “Defect engineered graphene for electro-thermal quantum technology – EQUATE” (PNRR, Mission 4 Component 2 Investment 1.1, CUP I53D23000590001, PRIN 2022 Call funded by the European Union – NextGeneration EU).
