This page provides key information to help you begin your academic journey in the Bachelor’s Degree in Physics. Among the available resources, the following are also highlighted:
- Orientation material for the opening of the 2024/2025 academic year.
- The Degree Program is based on the Academic and Didactic Regulations available on the Regulations page.
Didactic activities
To graduate, you must earn a total of 180 ECTS credits—ideally 60 credits per each of the three academic years—by following a program of courses and passing the corresponding final exams. To find out which courses are offered over the three years, their credit values, their schedules, and where to find details about the subjects covered, we recommend the following resources:
- the Courses page, which includes links to individual exams
- the Class Schedule page
- the E-learning platform, where you can access teaching materials and, once registered, receive notifications from instructors.
To ensure effective delivery of teaching activities, first-year lectures and laboratory sessions are organized in small groups, which are assigned based on the student ID number:
- Group A: even ID
- Subgroup A1: even ID divisible by 4
- Subgroup A2: even ID not divisible by 4
- Gruoup B: odd ID
- Subgroup B1: odd ID, leaving a reminder 1 when divided by 4
- Subgroup B2: odd ID, leaving a reminder 3 when divided by 4
The periods dedicated to classroom or laboratory teaching activities, exams, and graduation sessions can be found in the Academic Calendar.
The exams
All information related to exams is available on the esami.unipi.it portal, where you can view exam session dates and register for exams. On this portal, you can also submit your evaluation of the courses.
The degree program concludes with a final examination, which takes place according to the procedures described on the Final Examination page.
Support services
The University of Pisa and the Department of Physics are committed to providing various forms of support to students. In particular, it is important to remember that professors — as well as “welcome tutor” students — can help you navigate everyday challenges, especially at the beginning of your academic journey.
